They said to ask

The same people who loved “Fahrenheit 911”, Richard Clarke and Joseph Wilson are now outraged about the book about John Kerry entitled “Unfit To Command” and the television ad put out by the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth.  The same people who have tried to prove that George W. Bush was AWOL in 1972 are incensed that John Kerry’s activities for four months in Vietnam are being scrutinized.  The same people who proclaimed that the American people should ask those who served with him to find out what kind of man John Kerry is now want to limit which of those people you can ask.

Face it, John Kerry has only given Americans three reasons to vote for him.  He’s a Vietnam War hero.  The French like him.  He’s not George W. Bush.  That is his entire campaign in a nutshell.  Every time he is introduced at a speaking engagement, we are reminded of his heroic and honorable service in the Vietnam War.  He earned three Purple Hearts in the space of four months, you know.

What about John Kerry’s voting record in the Senate?  He’s a Vietnam War hero.  What about John Kerry’s opposition to increased intelligence funding after the first World Trade Center bombing?  He earned three Purple Hearts in Vietnam.  What about Kerry’s inconsistent positions on the War in Iraq.  “Kerry served in Vietnam, Bush didn’t,” is the response.

Therefore, Senator Kerry, if your service in Vietnam is your number one qualification to be President, then it should be examined.  Closely.  From all sides.  You have admitted that you took part in the burning of villages.  Did it happen the way “Unfit” describes?  Did you run your boat up to the shore of a village with no known political or military activity and take your Zippo lighter and burn down the huts?  That would be slightly more outrageous than making a male Arab prisoner wear women’s underwear.  Wouldn’t it?

We’ve heard how you single handedly killed a Viet Cong attacker saving the lives of your men.  Was it actually a fleeing Vietnamese teenager wearing only a loin cloth?  That would rank higher on the atrocity scale than a naked human pyramid.  Don’t you think?

When you came back from Vietnam, you seemed to know a lot about atrocities.  Exactly how much do you know?  How much did you do yourself?

John Kerry and the Democrats have made his Vietnam record a campaign issue.  John Kerry wants you to see the polished medals that he really didn’t throw away.  However, John Kerry doesn’t want anyone to ask the questions about how he got them.  His supporters don’t want those questions asked either.  That is negative campaigning and dirty politics, they say.

The Democratic National Convention says otherwise.  They paraded Vietnam veterans across the stage and said “If you want to know about John Kerry, just ask the men who served with him.”  Sounds reasonable to me.

Once again, well said and thought out.  John Kerry came home from Viet Nam and used the backs of the soldiers he left behind in Viet Nam, soley and ONLY for his own political game.  He did not care if the war ended quicker, he did not care about the POW's and what speaking out might do to them and he certainly did not care about being associated with Hanoi Jane Fonda.  He only cared about himself.  And, he flip flops on each and every issue so it beneifts him again.  I did this, but I did not really mean that.  He is not fit to serve as Commander in Chief of this great country.  What else would he do on the backs of the American people?

Your discerning post reflects the current composition of the Democratic leadership and their political bobblehead following.  The Democratic Party has become a self righteous, factually and socio-politically contradictory anomaly, bent on regaining power, at any cost, and with it, deceptively gain support for their ever increasing multitude of unpopular and contemptuous liberal social philosophies and desires.

Lonelawyer:

The current Democratic leadership has incessantly promoted to further weaken the traditional family unit by championing and supporting gay marriage, abortion, and desire to remove parenting, from the decision process, regarding use of contraceptives (prophylactics, birth control pill and decision to abort a child).  The liberal agenda has pushed forward (Kerry leading the way in Massachusetts),  an iniquitous policy to allow the State and the concerned child a unilateral right to make these important decisions without parental notification. Further, "Libertine/progressive" attacks upon civility, non-violence, morality, ethics, and virtuous conduct, has resulted in an explosion of diametrically unfit and improper content, in children's games, movies, TV, Music and even print, thus, extensively further subverting the family unit and damaging and harming proper caring, nurturing and parenting efforts, to manage content profusely available to our children.  Second, the libertine perception of justice or lack thereof, has focused upon criminal and terrorist rights, at the expense of Society's safety, rather than reinforcing the capability and authority of the police and government to combat criminals and terrorism.  This is especially concerning during these troubled times, when terrorism in the world is primarily aimed at  the United States and all civilized nations.

Kerry's decision and the Democratic Party's willingness to parade Kerry's questionable war record as an asset, while camouflaging his true nefarious, Anti-American intent and Marxist beliefs, truly reflects the core manifestation of what the Democratic Party has evolved to become.  We can only hope that our fellow citizenry of the United States uses resolve and discipline to educate themselves of all the "FACTS" surrounding Monsieur Kerry.  Only then, will America survive and grow ever stronger as an example of morality, justice and

Thank you for keeping this record of the outrageous tactics being used by the liberal facists. It seems that there is nothing too low for them to do in their fanatical quest for power. Their tactics are frightening. Their fanatical hatred of this "land of the free" is beyond belief. I know many people who are so frustrated by what the "Blame America First" crowd is doing that they don't even want to watch the news. Like me they are busy with other things and do not have time to keep track of one outrage after another. They don't have time to make their voice heard and feel helpless to do anything about the fanatical shouting of people who are filled with hatred of this great country. It is hard for me to understand such venomous hatred of a country which gives people the opportunity to have a high standard of living if they choose to work for it. In any case. I appreciate your efforts of keeping track of the lies and distortions. I have never seen such vicous politics. It is unprecedented. I expect to see a repeat of the Florida debacle with counts and recounts and court challenges all over the place. The issue of the absentee ballots of our service men and women overseas should also be taken into account. During the last election mess I do not believe that they were properly counted. I will continue to visit your site. You are providing a valuable service.

as usual Lone, only too well do you point out the utter heights of hypocrisy the Democratic Party has taken its politics to,  It's the Max Cleland platform...  Hell no!  You can't subject my record to scrutiny.  I'm a patriot, dammit!  Forget what I voted for before I voted against it.  Never mind if I voted against military appropriations and for intelligence cutbacks and funding out troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I'm a patriot, dammit!  I was in Vietnam and you can't question that. Ashcroft is a fascist, Cheney is not a patriot, and Bush is using the War on Terror for political gain.  They're doing un-American things.  And don't try to put words in my mouth, just shove it!  We're running a positive campaign here.

I, for one, am not outraged by any book, or movie.
The main reason for votiing for John Kerry has nothing to do with his Vietnam record.  But after decades of listening to Republican boys try to sound like men, Democrats have found themselves obliged to follow this pathetic chest-thumping yahooism.  I find it interesting that for all these years, the chickenhawk Republicans thought a war record a very good reason for voting for someone--as long as that someone was a Republican.  Now that the Republican leadership is entirely composed of 'men' who never fought for their country, the idea of military service as a worthwhile political asset is now moot.  Left without any action figures of your own to promote, conservatives can do nothing except try to belittle Kerry's record.  True, some Vietnam veterans do not like Kerry and some make claims against his war record.  Other veterans do support Kerry's claims.  Is there anything a conservative won't do or say to hold onto power?

Fpoldiak's inner monologue: "I swear I am a man. Ain't no man like me. No Republican boys around will tell me I ain't no man. I'll vote. I'll show'em. That will show'em I'm a man. My momma will tell'em I'm a man. Let me go down stairs to fetch her. That's what I'll do. I like tater tots. Momma makes good ones. Maybe our check is in? I am a man."
