What are your favorite movies?

I believe that the type of movies that we like says a lot for our personality and, perhaps, even our politics.  It certainly tells a lot about what we like and dislike.  As a result, I think it would be fun to take a few minutes and think about what your five favorite movies are.  Who knows, you may even surprise yourself.

In no particular order, here are my five favorite movies:

1.  Tombstone

2.  Red River

3.  Casablanca

4.  The Hunt For Red October

5.  High Plains Drifter

What are your favorite movies?

Howdy Lone,

My favorite movies are:

Tombstone -- When Ike is complaining that Doc cheats at poker... "Well, Ike, I guess poker just ain't your game... I know! Let's have a spellin' contest!"

The Man From Snowy River -- and it's sequel "Return to Snowy River". The horsemanship was phenomenal.

Gladiator -- Crowe may be a real bad boy, but baby, as Tim McGraw sings, he's a real good man!

The miniseries Centennial -- Michener's saga of Colorado history.

The Shootist - John Wayne's last film about an aging gunfighter facing his own mortality.
The Cowboys - A rancher (John Wayne) who takes a bunch of boys and turns them in to men on a cattle drive.
The Quiet Man - John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Duke returns home to Ireland to take a wife.
The Day the Earth Stood Still - Klaatu and Gort visit earth with a warning, that is as true today as it was back in the 1950s.
Top Gun - The aerial sequences, action, soundtrack, and Kelly McGillis.
